The Soviet Union collapsed decades ago but many of the old roots remain. When Dan Bailey, a successful English executive in Chicago starts to have bizarre dreams of a strange and frightening childhood he learns that he is one of those lost roots, a mind-conditioned servant of an ex-KGB General who is using Dan to advance his business career by killing off his opponents. As Dan’s conditioning breaks down further, he regains all his memories of a Russian childhood, his training at a secret Siberian camp and the murders he has committed for his controller. He determines to break free of his conditioning with the help of those who were once his enemy. But the stressful, nearly fatal process leaves him not knowing who is friend and who is foe.
